There's only one thing that counts and that's stubbornness. Never
quit!

No argument there. From time to time I would get discouraged with
the work load and complexity of the courses and I would remind
myself that a LOT of people had done that before me, and some of
them were not very bright, so I better just keep plugging....
It worked.
The four year break between high school and college may make a
couple of subjects a little harder to get back up to speed on, but my
high
school courses were not geared at all to the engineering studies. I
had not developed good study habits, and was rudely shocked at my
own lack of preparadness.... It took about a year and a half for me
to learn what college was all about, academically, but after that
I did pretty well. Five years later when I went back to grad school,
I did very well..... cause by then I had learned that the stuff was
useful in my job, and I studied enthusiasticly and with gusto.......
Regarding taxes paid,,,,, I've paid a hell of a lot more than a
penny....
A large part of that has been distributed to fund education... Not to
mention many thousands of dollars a year in real estate taxes for
the last 40 years..... <G>
I didn't work on campus cause those jobs were taken . I was
engineer
at several radio and TV stations (over a 4 year period), did some DJ
work in radio, and worked a summer as an electrician's helper . (
That's
the dumb ass who has to crawl under the house and avoid the snakes)
Never was any doubt that I would be an electrical engineer. When my
high school classmates were stealing hubcaps, I was stealing drive in
speakers :>))))) Got my First Phone in my freshman college year and
that got me into radio and TV.......
