Just to throw a little levity into the discussion, the IEEE, representing
corporate and academic interests, noted that the quality of entering
engineering students hasn't changed much over the years except now many
require remedial arithmetic.

BTW, watch out for inflation, it isn't the same as the CPI. Arthur had a
good reference, but I forgot to record it.
