A local preacher had an interesting answer to "when we die, the winners
are determined by their toys." It was "when we die." Best evidence is we
brought nothing, we leave with nothing, we came from nowhere, we return to
where we came from. If someone has the wisdom to decide which are the
winners and which are the losers, what's the prize.
The preacher didn't say, but to me, the winners are those who figured it
out, solved the puzzle, found what was important, found truth where no one
else looked, discovered why things and people are the way they are. If
those who do what they are told is important and collect what they are
told is important, they then they are the losers, for they have gained
nothing, they have accepted authority, they are uncritical of their rules,
and they never learned to think for themselves. How can they know who are
the winners and who are the losers.
