I am joking. But remember the kid was talking not writing. These
websites (the first three at least) are public relations oriented. The
first for the gay traveler. No one speaks British but the British. I
find it hard to figure out some of their speech, but I'm positive that
I've rarely heard the word "gay" spoken in movies. That newspaper
article probably meant to use a British word. And it may have been
that the cop took offense for the wrong reason. But we'd never figure
out the reason if we don't know exactly what the kid said.
