I hope everyone here is lucky enough to delight in food, family, and
friends today.
Shopping around, and using our touchingly inept Italian on our
neighbors, we discovered that a big fresh turkey bought from an Italian
farmer would cost between $50 and $100. There are three of us and
we've seen a turkey.
So we're having a big delicious spinach-ricotta-artichoke tart for
lunch, with the last of the fresh tomatoes and lettuce, a local
Verduzzo. After we eat, we'll spend some time cracking fresh walnuts
while finishing off a bottle of the neighbor lady's 2003 wine, then
take some dry bakery bread to her 4 chickens.
