Just like busineses got the point during the silicone breast
implant scare.

Firms were placed in bankrupcy, doctors were harrased (not
damaged- the targets were the corporate assets), and thousands
of women were placed in panic. (and lawyers got rich).

What would have been nice, would have been a little truth to the
claims. But jurors bought the junk science claims.

Only much later did we learn that it was all fake. But it is a
little late to apologize after we burn the witch.
