Andy, in all sincerity, I don't understand what you see in him to
like. Could you clarify what you like about him? A lot of us mostly
go along disliking the programs of this administration but not paying
much attention to the man because he seems like a lightweight.
If good people like him, I must be missing something.
Andy replies:
Well , I don't know what it is, but I just naturally like the guy.
And I'm
not alone in this, because a LOT of the people I come in personal
contact with like him. I don't know exactly why --- he hasn't really
done anything for us, and his domestic program sucks, in my opinion.
But he seems to have traits I admire --- Faithful husband, good
life style ( I don't care what he did 30 years ago -- I was doing the
same things ), loyalty to his friends, able to focus narrowly on the
goals he sets and not get sidetracked with every poll...... I like
that.
Regarding Hillary, I don't know what it is, but I DON'T like her. She
has
never done anything to me, or done anything that I know to be
dishonorable. If she had kicked Bill out, I would have thought higher.
If you remember, their campaign in '92 was "Family Values"......
.... people seem to forget that....... Just one of those chemistry
things
I guess. I admire strong women, as a rule, but I just don't like her.
I will admit she will be formidable if she runs for higher office...
Regarding Bush to be a lightweight. So far this "lightweight" has
managed to be elected president twice, and outsmart EVERY lawmaker
and lawyer that the DNC could muster up. Perhaps he can't do
calculus as well as I, but he has managed to rise to the height of
power
in this world. How can such a many be called "stupid" ??? I suggest
that the tendency to underestimate his political prowress is
responsible
for a LARGE part of his success..... If people think a fellow is
really
smart ( Clinton ), they are always on their guard for his tricks.....
that's
how Clinton got caught --- his opponents were focused...... If you
think
a guy is dumb, the first time you are aware of a problem is when you
lose the election..... ....... just my opinion......
Since all politicians are crooks, I'd rather have one that I like than
one I don't like. And I think Laura Bush is a treasure. Imagine
what
it would have been like having a first lady like Terry Heinz..... Sort
of like having Jane Fonda in the White house...
