That's no answer, Olly! People who slavishly imitate one another by
picking a useless, gas-guzzling monstrosity they don't need are not
free. They just don't want to be left behind by their neighbors.

Same thing happened with the Mini-Vans. When they first appeared they
were the ideal vehicle for large families who had to take a bunch of
kids to school or to various sports activities. Most of the Mini-Vans
sold since then are usually occupied by one or two people at best. At
least that's my observation. OF COURSE people have the freedom to
make that choice .. what I'm wondering about is WHY they make it if
they could save a bundle on gas and don't really need the space (or
the traction and power when it comes to SUVs).
