Are you alleging this is done? There are cases where the mother's life is
in danger if the infant can't be removed from the uterus before birth.
Rare these days because of Caesarean sections but they can happen --
where the child is not able to be delivered and it is too late for a
C section. This should not happen with reasonable prenatal care and a
an attended birth. But it can. In such a case it is a choice between
the life of the baby or the life of the mother or the lives of both.

I remember as a little girl being taken to a funeral home and seeing
a young woman in a coffin with an infant. My relatives whispered to
each other, and I overheard, that both had died during childbirth.

When I was pregnant for the first time somehow I got hold of a medical
tesxtbook for nurses on obstetrics. After reading it and looking at
the photos it is a wonder I ever had one baby, let alone eight!
Now that was in 1950 and obstetrics has improved drastically since
that time, but yet all the horrible things detailed in that text can
indeed happen.

I trust you are not serious.

No contraceptive solution would please the Catholic Church, although
the majority of Catholics disagree. It presently teaches that any
attempt to prevent conception by any means other than abstinence is
sinful. I guess that somehow sperm is holy.
