What a disgusting post, Engineer. Shame on you.
Whoever wrote with the above sock puppet was right about one
thing - Jesus is not responsible for David's postings to Usenet
- all of David's postings are all and only David's
responsibility. Yowie

I don't understand why it is that you haven't kill filed
him...he is obviously doing it to irritate those of you that
don't like him posting, and he is quite successful at it. A
complaining about it doesn't do anything but annoy people like me
that get tired of the pointless whining when you have the use of
a filter available. It is quite obvious to me that David intends
to exercise his right to post, and there is nothing you can OR
should do to circumvent that right.
Is this response directed at me - Yowie?

What do you think...?

I think it was directed at <316> because of the long standing war
that has now come to SRQ between the both of you.

If there is a war, it is one sided. I have her blocked because she
is unwilling to speak nicely, and I won't allow he insults to
provoke me to anger when I can avoid it.

Once you stop replying to her, I'll believe that you have blocked her.

However, that was not made at all
clear in your post, hence my request for clarification.

Yes, it was directed at you, and 90% of this group that bitches
about David but does little in the way of blocking his posts. I'll
admit that his posting has tested my patience, but he does have the
right to post.

Actually no-one has a *right* to post, everyone is subject to the TOS of
wherever they posts from, which ISTR in this case is Google. Although Google
doesn't seem to enforce its TOS, posting off-topic posts and doing so
prolifically is still a breach of the the TOS. Even someone did have a
*right* to post, that doesn't in any way mean they *should* or that it is in
any way *beneficial*.

Also, if David has a right to post, then anyone else has an equal right to
reply or not to reply in any way they see fit. This is also part of Usenet.
If David has a 'right' to post as he sees fit then I have an exactly equal
'right' to reply (or not to reply) in any way I see fit.

Quid pro quo.

I have always treated David kindly and politely, as David has grdgingly
admitted. The regulars of SRQ endeavour to do the same. Other groups behave
differently - but if David wants to go play in their sandbox, then he opens
himself up to the players of that sandbox. If he doesn't like it, he can
stop. They certainly won't.

You on the other hand have the right to NOT read those posts by
blocking them.

Yup. I also have the right to reply in any way I see fit.

I have Davids posts filtered so that I may exclude
those that irritate and read those that are of interest to me,
and yes, I like David and care about how he is effected by social
isolation.

Does stating this make you feel better about yourself?

I enjoy talking with him as well, and I don't give a
doodly scoot what that Bluebird of Uselessnet thinks.

The Bluebird gives advice from long experience. You are free to ignore it as
you see fit.

To socially isolate David is criminal,

Putting someone - even David - in a killfile is not 'criminal'. Its Usenet.

So - which is it - should we killfile him if we don't want to read him and
be criminals or should we continue a conversation we deem pointless because
you say so?

but to use wisdom and
selection in filtering his posts is not.

I, and others, have gone down this path. I wish you well on it.
