Plenty can be done. But clearly the denizens here - besides you - are fairly
happy with SRQ the way it is. If you grossly object, you could try to change
it by starting and engaging in conversations you see as 'good', however, it
isn't a one man show and everyone else here is equally reponsible to the
nature of SRQ.

Why? It has been eexplained to you several times that its is a *newsgroup*
on *usenet* and like every *newsgroup* on *usenet* has no ties to whatever
its referring to. It never had., and was never intended to. It is simply a
newsgroup where *anyone* can post *anything*, just like any other
unmoderated usenet forum. That name of any unmoderated newsgroup is simply a
*suggestion* as to what to post about inthe forum, not a *rule*.You think
alt.religion.wicca for example is any better? Its far far worse (in terms of
discussing the religion it refers to) than SRQ, its full of trolls and
kooks. At least SRQ, although having far less participants, tends to be at
least somewhat on topic most of the time.

Really, if you don't like the egalitarian nature of Usenet, you'd be better
of with a mailing list, Yahoo group or blog.

In the meantime I offer 3 ways for working towards world peace -

structured teaching, broadly construed

Like madrassahs

listening to or playing music

Death metal? Punk?

group worship

Like in fundametalist mosques that promote the jyhad against the Great
Shaitan that is the west?

Peronally I think that the best way to world peace would be to address the
horrid inequalities of the world. Ensure that those who thirst, drink, and
those that hunger are fed. Ensure the sick are treated, they dying tended
to. The suffering treated with empathy and compassion, widows with dignity,
any slaves freed with adequate compensation for their work etc etc.

You know, what *Jesus* said to do, not what David/Carl/PChistiansen said to
do.
