As do I, I commend them to those who are experiencing problems with
something I can't see.
Unfortunately the 'attack' seems to have managed to get by
Individual.net.
The dummy is bound to get fed up before long.........
But I cannot seem to find a way to isolate the posts through Outlook
Express.
A faar as I know, there is no 'good' way of isolating these sporges with
Outlook Express.
What you can do is in Outlook Express is to set up a rule that says 'if the
message is in soc.religion.quaker and the author isn't <list of authors>
then delete'
Whiskers posted a list of recent genuine authors to SRQ.
Newsgroups: soc.religion.quaker

Some of the flood articles are not even being cross-posted now; this has
turned into a generic 'hipcrime' attack on a number of unrelated
newsgroups. <http://www.killfile.org/dungeon/why/hipcrime.html> if
anyone's interested in a bit of history.
The other way - the wy I'm doing it - is to just use your eyeballs. The
psorges tend to have very long subject lines, whereas most posts from real
posts have fairly short subject lines. The sporges also tend to come
altogether, so if youset Outlook Express to be able to see the time and date
of the posts, and sort accoring to time, you can rid of messages that were
sent altogether.
Excellent :)) Sadly, the attacks are deliberately meant to disrupt
usenet, and they do.
This system, however, is not full proof. So I apologise if I inadvertently
miss a real post that someone is expecting a reply to: if youreallywant a
reply from me, feel free to e-mail me. Unmung my e-mail addy and put [SRQ]
in the subject line.

As with any flood, all we can rally do is wait for it to subside.
