Is there any point trying to get together a FAQ for this group, or should
we just point people to a Faith & Practice on-line if anyone asks?
I think, counter to what others may hold, that anyone coming to a
newsgroup
with quaker as part of the title will be only too aware that an
unmoderated newsgroup is unlikely to be an official conduit for
dissemination of 'Quaker' information. An occasional pointer is all that
is necessary in order that others may hold up the posts to the mirror
of "Faith and Practice".

I agree. I think pointing to F&P is not a bad thing, but reminding that a
FAQ exists is better. Friends aren't prone to evangelizing, and F&P (BTW,
who's F&P) seems to give an imprimeteur to certain ideals that SRQ should
not be bound ot in any way shape or form. By the way, I suspect I'll catch
hell from Ian Davis, but I think publishing other's personal e-mail addys
without asking their permission is not a good idea. I know that e-mail
addresses are often very easy to obtain, but posting a list like this can
possibly lead to abuse by others.
