Why "...because he wanted power"? That is not the only possible
explanation.
I suggest you read "The Passover Plot" by Hugh Schonfield; first published
in 1965 but you might find it in much more recent paperback.

Last, the Thiering camp says Jesus decided to commit suicide but
survived the crucifixion in
what Jesus took as a Restoration.
Was Jesus divine? Not in the Thiering version.
That wasn't a new idea when Thiering suggested it - in fact it goes back
to the 1st century as an aspect of various 'heresies'.

The truth is what matters - not make-believe or hypocrisy.
