The church has came out with councile that New Years Celebrations
should be kept within a reverant context where NYE comes on a Sunday. I
understand and support this completly. Not that my wife and I go and
party it up anyway (we have young kids).

I was curious what other LDS couples/familes were planning on doing
that evening. We might be planning on watching a movie like Best Two
Years or something "churchy" and calling it a night. I think we will
try and avoid the TV specials this year as they might fit in the
activites the church is asking us to avoid. What are your thoughts?

Is there some special reason that it is all right to be irreverent on week
days and nights?
