Events out of our Control?

Scriptures make references to famine, earthquake, weather, etc.,
indicating such events are not a recent phenomena. Do scriptures
highlight causes and solutions, to ensure such events are prevented
from impacting people lives again? What is your interpretation of
global natural disasters today?
