can anyone let me know where (in SRI or elsewhere) I can find a good in

To put it simple: How can people deserve reward or punishment in the
hereafter for deeds comitted on Earth while they were fully "remote
controlled" and had no free will regarding their decisions?
I doubt whether you will ever find a discussion that satisfies you.
The question you raise has been a hot issue in Christianity for nearly
five hundred years now and nothing resembling a consensus has been
reached. I recognize that a Muslim might be put off by Christian
theological literature. But on this point there is very little
difference between the two religions.
In Christianity denial of free-will is associated with John Calvin.
Calvin answered the question you raised by saying "that is exactly
what happens - some people are predestined for Hell and some for
salvation and there is nothing we can do about it." The Qur'an
actually gives some strong hints that Calvin agrees with it. The
Qur'an says things like "Allah closes the ears of those he wishes to
condemn and they cannot hear" (I am paraphrasing from memory)
This is simply too much for most people to stomach. But it is VERY
hard to evade because unless it is true Allah is not all-powerful.
I personally can see only one way out. Hell is empty and will stay
that way.
