I quite agree, but I don't know where to draw the line. All<snip> ...
Christians, as far as I know, regard Jesus as God incarnate. All
Muslims, as far as I know reject this and regard Jesus as nothing but
a prophet. This is the main barrier between Christians and Muslims. If
this barrier could be removed or somehow resolved there would be a
MUCH better state of harmony between the two religions.
Comment:-
Someone really interested in this serious question would take the time
and study the relative literature on the subject from both sides of the
religious Islam and Christianity divide.
As I recollect, it was Willard Oxtoby who proposed : "You get out what
you put in as a rule of thumb in the study of religion? That is, whoever
takes the Qur'an a priori to be the word of God will find this belief
confirmed every time he reads it - and the reverse will be true of the
nonbeliever." [The Meaning of Other Faiths, 1983]. That's the line
that's been drawn for around 1400 years. Do you have a practical
solution to this ancient impasse besides wishful thinking?
The act of self-deception, deluding or misrepresentation by creating
insubstantial ideas is a common theme is this Islamic forum by some
nonbelievers? Oughtn't this unrefined line of crooked thinking be the
self-critical barrier for harmonious interlocutors?
