First of all please stop confusing yourself with syllogisms and "middle<snip> ...
premises". The arguments I mentioned above are all valid arguments.
Comment:-
Your arguments in your original post were written in syllogistic form were
they not? And you were arguing that some Muslims were using faulty reasoning
and logic in declaring that the Qur'an was the Word of God. Obviously, if
you wish to invoke this "form" of argument then you must equally comply with
its rules and conventions otherwise we will be discussing logical fallacies
based on faulty logic. Which gets us back to the object of syllogisms. To
save time and space there is a thorough explanation at this link:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syllogisms
Extract:
" Occasionally these are called categorical syllogisms because the
propositions they contain involve relatively simple declarations about
categories, objects, and the properties that apply to these categories and
objects. Syllogisms are usually considered to be a form of inference, but
the inferences drawn in syllogisms are generally trivial and tautological.
Instead, syllogisms are used to examine the validity of reasoning involved
in a given statement by exposing questionable assumptions and incorrect
category relations. This article provides an introduction to syllogisms
(categorical syllogisms, term logic), giving some historical background, a
description of the basic use and structure of syllogisms, an analysis of
common errors in reasoning, and suggestions for further reading."
End extract.
