Palaspe village on Mumbai- Goa Highway was visited by missionaries
from 'Believers Church Bible College'. Some of them went door to door
for their mission of spreading Christianity whereas some distributed
pamphlets and books standing on the roads. They were distributing such
material by making appeal to people or using even force. They were
advising people to visit the church and pray to Jesus following their
advice so that Jesus can destroy their distress and obstacles.
In this village, missionaries are carrying out activities through a
building. A lady member from the group of missionaries advised one
Hindu youth to visit church and asked him to make certain prayers. She
also took him along with her when she went to Vasai for propagation of
Christianity. After few days, the youth returned to the village; but
he started having hallucinations like seeing a cat, imagining indecent
incidents. He also started taking liquor and became addicted.
Residents of the village were still discussing the issue when these
missionaries visited their village and openly started propagation of
Christianity. A few persons tried to stop them; but they paid no heed.
Finally, staunch Hindus beat them up. In this connection, four persons
have been admitted to a local hospital.
