I'm early into the "text" section of this book, and so far I'm 99%
confused and 1% inspired by what I read.

I don't accept the idea yet that this is a dictation by Christ to the
book author. I could accept the idea that the Holy Spirit dictated
it. I'll just have to see what happens as I continue to read it.

I would give it the same odds you did. :)

Criticisms I've read of the book, that don't discount it a priori,
are that it doesn't deal very well with the topic of evil or Satan.
My own experience is that Satan is an active agent working against us
as we attempt transformation, and to me it seems like it would be a
great omission from ACIM if the topic of evil never came up.

Anyway, I just wonder what experience if any anyone else has with
this book.

Personally, I haven't read the book. But it seems to
me, that when someone is claiming that Christ Himself
told them what they're writing in their book, that
there's a 99% chance that they're simply trying to
claim a great amount of authority for their writing,
because it doesn't always line up Biblically. That
would be my concern, anyway and I do not believe that
Christ Himself openly speaks to people, as He did, say,
Paul. So I would be very careful with any writer that
claims that and as I'm sure you know, let's remember,
that the Bible is the ruler by which we measure all
doctrine and anything else, including commentaries,
are just the opinion of men.

As for the Devil and what we do, let's not blame the
Devil for what we do. :)

James 1:14-15

14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn
away of HIS OWN lust, and enticed.
15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth
forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth
forth death.
