Many of us are sceptical. As I had said...this is what I have heard and
what I believe in. Having something written in print does not make
something more "truth" than any other way. Many religions and cultures
tend to celebrate the solstice with celebrations having to do with
"light". Now this light is both literal....and figuratively I would
reckon.
In many pagan faiths...on the solstice..the baby child....a male...is born
of the Goddess....and is symbolic of both God energies (male) and the sun
itself. How interesting to see Jesus being born of Mary and the
iconographic importance in the Old Church of this quasi-"fact".
