I find this to be true. Medication is simply taken to be a necessary
part of life. Although some may go a bit far in saying that the Greek
word for sorcery is 'pharmakeia' therefore all pharmaceutical drugs are
sorcery, I find that sometimes there's a philosophical conflict between
medicine and faith in that medicine takes away the need for faith.

Agreed on the above points as well. I'd even go so far as to say
psychoactive medications aren't banned by God considering that alcohol
is psychoactive, but it can clearly be used as medicine in some ways.
"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your
stomach and your frequent illnesses." (1 Timoth 5:23). It's a matter
of how medicine is used. Seems they're designed to be temporary, but
the interests of the pharmaceutical industry is clearly to create
life-time dependence on drugs, which supports your point that these
drugs don't seem to heal. Rather, they act as costly bandaids for our
current ills. Not to say that the pharmaceutical industry is
inherently evil, but the power they have over people these days does
make me more skeptical about what they're willing and capable of doing.

This may be true, but I found that too many people suffer from others'
failure to obey the Bible's instructions, and so this argument is lost
on most who are suffering. For instance, crack babies aren't to blame
for what they suffer as a result of their parents.

I'm completely lost as to whether truly miraculous healings occur
today, for instance, limbs growing back out in full sight of an
eyewitness. I don't doubt they can occur. I've heard accounts of them
occurring. But the fact that there is a controversy surrounding this
indicates that it's sporadic at best and not a common occurrence, which
seems to suggest to me that Jesus' miracles of healing and today's
natural healings are quite different.

But one thing that's certainly true is that our concept of health is
completely twisted by our attitudes toward diet and healthy lifestyles
and the fact that we feel we can rely on modern medicine and the health
industry to keep us well.
