Hi Suzanne-
this reminded me of something. As I understand it the children of
Baha'is are considered Baha'is unless they decide otherwise when
reaching age 15. I got to thinking about this and thought that maybe
all souls are created potentially as Baha'is but through our lack of
education, bad choices in life, etc. we don't recognize Baha'u'llah and
sign a card and so we are considered not Baha'i.

For me, this is reminiscent of the hadith which says that everyone is
born "Muslim" and its ones parents who raise a child to become Jewish
or Christian or whatever. I'm not sure what the best way to reconcile
it all really is, but personally I hope that folks can strive to
de-emphasize particular religious labels and live up to the universal
principles which lie behind the various religions. We consider
specific paths important to the extent that the particular practices
and disciplines and commitments help us get closer to God. But past
that, we should probably leave them alone to some degree.

However to me I feel
like treating all souls as Baha'is in Process rather than non-Baha'is,
if you know what I mean.
