For
example, the Quran clearly allows for certain interreligious
marriages.
Dear Gilberto,
By 'certain' interreligious marriages you mean a Muslim man can marry
outside his religion but not a Muslim woman.
What I had in mind, however, was the kind of discriminatory practices
such as making non-Muslims wear special clothing so they can easily be
identified, not allowing them to go our when it rains lest they rub
against a Muslim when they are wet, not allowing them to ride horses
or touch the food in the market place, or drink out of the same
drinking faucet, etc. These practices were all common in 19th century
Iran and some remain today.
warmest, Susan
.
