industry has stepped forward as a leader in sustainable agriculture to
find ways to build on the immense cultural heritage of farming and

This organization is pioneering an industry-wide initiative designed
to create business value for the industry and reduce environmental
impacts. Headquartered in Chicago, this organization was established
to use marketing, research and communications programs in order to
drive increased demand for and sales of U.S. dairy products and
ingredients. In the organization's new and entirely unprecedented
sustainability initiative, they will leverage dairy industry
connections - from farmer to large-scale distributor - in order to
dramatically decrease the industry's environmental impact.


Sustainability Relationship Manager (Chicago, Immediate Start)
Role and Responsibilities:
The Sustainability Relationship Manager will be responsible for
developing and maintaining relationships with key partners within the
environmental and social sustainability arena. You will define
industry standards and create industry score-carding by working with
key stakeholders, including retail, producers, government, NGOs,

Key Accountabilities:
• Pioneer an NGO/corporate partnership model to assist the dairy
industry in innovating to deliver environmental benefit with tangible
economic returns.
• Oversee sustainable scorecard initiative pilot project.
• Develop and implement innovative value-creation strategies
working in partnership with business leaders, NGOs, Government,
thought leaders, academic institutions and other stakeholders
• Manage and develop external stakeholder relationships to support
the sustainability strategy; develop communication vehicles (for
example, holding meetings, developing and overseeing distribution of
promotional materials); convene leaders for collaborative problem-
solving; and secure support for critical initiatives.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years in the non-profit field
• Vision, creativity and a track record of entrepreneurial success
working across NGO and corporate partnerships
• Capable of managing complex multi-stakeholder projects and
diverse perspectives and priorities
• Experience with scorecarding initiatives is a strong plus
• Driven, hardworking, and comfortable in a dynamic, sometimes
chaotic, environment
• Ability to travel frequently (50-75% time)
• Bachelors degree from a top tier university

Environmental Life Cycle Assessments Manager

Role and Responsibilities:
The Environmental LCA Manager will be the technical eyes, ears and
voice of the organization's life cycle management. They will work with
the entire value chain, as well as NGOs, academia, and government to
ensure that data is accurate and project LCAs are completed on time to
inform the sector's strategic plan. You will work with communication
and producer relations for key education and messaging programs, and
will be responsible for developing environmental industry plans and
annual reports.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of experts focusing on environmental management
systems and reporting, product integrity and conformity, and
environmental research and material science
• Guide product management and development teams in their material
selection strategies to reduce waste based on in-depth research and
outreach to academic institutes, industry working groups, and
stakeholder organizations
• Formalize dairy supply chain programs on energy, waste and
emission reduction in close coordination with industry practitioners
and academics
• Develop environmental data systems and track tools in accordance
with the Reporting Standard of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI),
Carbon Disclosure and Open Source Life Cycling requirements (ISO
14040)
• Translate between business requirements and technical
requirements to develop an industry wide LCA
• Develop best practices and identify key impact areas from the
resultant LCA findings to further improve the dairy value chain

Qualifications:
• Engineering or financial systems degree, with experience in Life
Cycle Assessments
• Minimum of 5 years experience in environmental program management
• Highly developed planning and organizational skills as well
as business acumen
• Clear communication skills and ability to deal comfortably with
executive management as business partner
• Technical literacy to help academics and industry develop an
overall environmental life cycle assessment learning plan
• Ability to interact with groups from diverse backgrounds and
economic standpoints
• Outstanding Excel modeling skills

Carbon Projects Manager

Role and Responsibilities:
Building on the key industry summit recommendations made in 2007, the
Carbon Projects Manager will support 27+ carbon initiative teams
across the dairy industry as they pursue their respective projects to
transform the sector. You will ensure key timelines are met and be a
point of contact for questions, insights, and further collaboration.

Key Accountabilities:
• Create business plans and analyze their financial implications.
• Prepare value-added business cases for project implementation.
• Track and follow up on project tasks/plans and create reports on
progress and achievements. Updates project plans, schedule meetings,
maintain project files and create spreadsheets and databases as
requested.
• Coordinate across the industry a win-win proposition for project
proposals that benefit the dairy industry’s growth.
• Understand who the industry key stakeholders are, how they are
motivated, and the business challenges they face.

Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of project management experience with a proven ability
to deliver on-time and on-budget
• Experience producing industry-leading reports and presenting
findings to peers.
• Strong business acumen coupled with demonstrated leadership
skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with
customers, peers and subordinates. Must be a champion and change agent
within an organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
