Oprah’s Remote Masonic Connection (Or Six Degrees to Christmas)

Oprah, sometimes spelled (Orpah) was Ruth?s sister, a Moabite. She
appears briefly in the Book of Ruth when the tale of Elemilech and
Naomi are related. FreeMasons are familiar with the two pillars that
stood outside the temple. The one whose name denotes ?strength? was
also dedicated by King Solomon to his great-great-great Grandfather.
He is the fellow who gave his shoe to his neighbor in the Book of
Ruth. Solomon?s father, of course, was David, David?s father - Jesse,
Jesse?s father ? Orped; and it was Orped?s father for whom the pillar
was named.
The story goes like this?Elemilech took his wife, Naomi, and two
son?s exploring to the Land of the Moabites where they married two
Moabite women, Ruth and Oprah. But, the Moabites were pagans and God
visited upon them a great famine in which Elemilech and his two son?s
died leaving the women widows. Naomi took her two daughters-in-law
traveling in order to survive. They struggled so much that eventually
she eventually released Ruth and Oprah, ordering them to return to
their Moabite families. Oprah took off (see ya), but Ruth insisted on
staying with Naomi and caring for her.
Eventually the two came to a place where everyone was busy with a
barley harvest. Orped?s father was very wealthy and ran the various
crews to accomplish the task. Ruth, being a Moabite, was abused by the
younger men and given the most difficult jobs. But after working all
day, Ruth still found the time to attend to Naomi. Orped?s father took
a liking to her and her industrious ways. He ordered the other men to
lighten her duties and soon Ruth began to care for him too. (She slept
with him?at his feet. Yeah, Uh-huh. That is what the Book says.).
Orped?s father announced that he intended to marry her; but the
community complained that he should not marry a Moabite. Then, he
learned that Naomi?s husband was Elemilech (I just like saying his
name); whose fields, unbeknownst to anyone, they were working. No one
had known what had happened to Elemilech ( there it is again) or his
two sons after they left the area.
Orped?s father could have married Ruth and acquired all the land;
but he wanted to set up a living will from which the other widow,
Naomi, could be self supporting. So, he gathered all the elders
together to discuss the situation and confessed what he knew. Being
determined to marry Ruth, and earning their respect for admitting to
the ownership of the land, Orped?s father gave his shoe to sign the
contract to buy the fields from Naomi; and, also symbolize that all of
their wanderings were now over.
Elemilech?s fields became a village which we now know to be the
town of Bethlehem.
