I typed a few of the words into google and came up with
the beginning of Ecclesiastes 12 quoted, or nearly so,
from the King James version of the Bible. It starts like
this:
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth,
while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh..."
It's quite beautiful to listen to. It's advice to be spiritual
before growing old then a bunch of very symbolic
descriptions of the symptoms of old age. Almond tree is
white hair, grasshopper is wrinkles and so on.
While commuting to work today I played an audio of a
different translation of Ecclesiastes that's supposed to be
better for the listener. It was far less poetic and it did not
include mention of the almond tree, though it did contain
the same general material. Interesting to go from
translation to translation in various holy writings
.
