Bro. Richard
The mutual recognition of the two GL's in New Jersey was a big step
forward. I was told 40 years ago as an E.A. that Prince Hall had the
same ritual as we did. As I said in my post their are brothers in both
jurisdictions that liked things the way they were. To avoid any
possible friction it was agreed that members of the two jurisdictions
would visit a lodge of another GL on invitation only. This does not
stop such a invitation from being solicited by a groop from the other
GL. At any time,at any lodge, did I ever hear any remarks of disrespect
for P.H.
My GL does have a official website and sometimes a P.H. group will
anounce an event on that website open to members of both GL's
In NJ, as I presume is done elsewhere, there is the tyler's book
listing all lodges that the GL of NJ recognizes. If a visitor presents
himself to the tyler, and his lodge is in the book,he is admitted. He
may have to take the tyler's oath or submit to a Masonic examination
depending upon how strict the lodge is. However, none worthy and well
qualified is denied admission regardless of race or creed.
I hope this answers the questions.
