Re: What a great night it was.

Congratulations Bro. Jeff on you initiation as an Entered Apprentice. Over
the summer, it would be prudent to learn your Entered Apprentice catechism
so that in the fall you can demonstrate suitable proficiency to entitle you
to receive the Fellowcrafts degree. Work with your mentor/instructor. He
is your best person to assist you in advancement in Freemasonry. He will
answer your questions. If he does not know the answer he will get you the
answer if your are entitled to it based on the consideration that you re an
Entered Apprentice and cannot receive any of the secrets of any of the other
degrees.

Fraternally,

Robert Haber, Past Master

Samuel Gompers-Benjamin Franklin Lodge No. 45. F.A.A.M., Washington, DC

I received my Entered Apprentice degree on July 9th. It was absolutly
wonderful. The ritual was
really really something to be part of. The fellow brothers were very
helpful. It was rich with history.

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to try to find the florida
masonic code with the old english wording so I could memorize it. Then I
gave it a second thought.
I want to enjoy the friendships of the Lodge and the brothern.
So instead of looking up .. if there is any.. to learn the traditional way
of being taught by a fellow mason.
So, this is what I am learning now.
They had a dinner in my honor with tux's.. and myself in a suit. It was a
great meatloaf meal fit for any king. lol.
Then came the ritual. I was totally
soaked up in the history of it all.. and becoming part of something that
reaches very very far back in history. I feel proud to be part of it. I
wished I had found this earlier in life.
After the ritual, we had cheezecake. (so far, this place is awsome.. fed
me a homemade meal from the ladies of the east.. and I have made many a
new freind for life). Currently, the lodge is dark until september and is
going under some restoration. I am deeply invovled in this and very
honored to be part of it. I am very excited and I feel good about myself
and the fact that I will continue to better myself in life and everything
connected.

Thanks for reading.. I will keep you up to date on my progress.
