What a brother gets out of a one day class be it Blue Lodge or Scottish
Rite depends on the invividual and how his mother Lodge has prepared
him. My Lodge has over the past several years gained about 15 members
from the one day route. Disregading the few who had previously
received only their EA and were curious - who dropped out at the end of
the year (four) and the brohers who moved or got put on might shift
(three) it was an unqualified success .
These so called "one day wonders" now are serving as SW, JW, SD, JD,
Chaplain, Junior Steward, and Marshall. Most have taken an active part
in the ritual by learning and delivering lectures and charges. And
many chose to go through the normal examination in Lodge.
The three who joined in the regular way are frequently seen on the
sidelines.
We work and communicate with all of our new members before, during and
after they have been raised.
I can not comment on the Scottish Rite since when I joined 50 years ago
it took two and one half full days plus two evenings.
