I'm reading this in Google Groups
Rod posted it from Google Groups, you
Bamboo eating maniac.
posting is not the same process as reading. rod posted a text string
(including a changed title) using google groups. he did not know at
that point (hence his question "wonder what google groups does to the
quotes") what form that text string would take in the posts as seen by
those reading his post. The quotes could have been stripped, changed
to different characters, or left unchanged by google groups. I
reported, from the point of view of a reader, that the quotes had
remained unchanged.
posting. reading. two different processes.
reading. comprehension. as demonstrated yet again, you don't always
manage both.
