Let me explain it this way.

It is valid to compare the relative importance of two *political*
issues, let's call them "Apple 1" and "Apple 2". It is also valid to
compare the relative importance of two *personal* issues, let's call
them "Orange 1" and "Orange 2". But when you try to compare the
relative importance of a political issue and a personal issue then,
in my opinion, you are trying to compare apples and oranges, and I
don't think this type of comparison makes much sense. I view
Proposition 8 as being a political issue and I view daily exercise
as being a personal issue. Hence it seemed to me that you were using
a not-very-useful apples and oranges comparison.

I do *not* disagree with your claim that Obama is saying one thing
but not backing up his words with actions. All I am saying is that,
in my opinion, you could argue your claim perfectly fine without
making any reference to his daily exercise. The reference to his
daily exercise just confuses the issue, at least for me.

fantasy, you've got to acknowledge just how far "Our Side"
is down on Obama's list of priorities.

As I said, I do *not* disagree with your criticism of Obama. I just
think you have expressed your criticism in a confusing way.
