The ones of these I've seen have pictures of the stars both as their
personas and as their appropriately dressed gender. Is that common?
The top male stars, such as Eltinge and Karyll Norman ("the Creole
fashionplate"), are almost always pictured only in female clothing.
The top-rung female stars, such as King and Tilley, are almost
invariably pictured only in male clothing. The lesser lights,
particularly the females, are the most likely to be pictured in both
"drag" and gender-appropriate attire.
