I was a sugar freak! I would put a ton of sugar in my tea, not stir
it, drink the tea, and then scoop up the sugar at the bottom of the
glass.

Also, I've never been a big fan of chocolate. I prefer vanilla.

I've never admitted to this in public before when I was a wee tot I
loved a white bread sandwich of butter and white sugar. I should also
mention I went on my first diet in the third grade.

One of our after-school babysitters served that as a snack. She
used only one slice of bread. How many did you use?

I went on my first diet a few years ago. It was the cocaine diet,
in which I only consumed about 1500 calories per day, worked out at
the gym, and snorted cocaine several times per week (this, in
addition to smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol). It was very
effective - I lost 20 lbs in hardly any time at all. Now I'm not on
a diet, not on cocaine (and quit smoking and drinking), I go to the
gym 3-4 times per week, and try to limit myself to around 1600
calories per day. I'm doing naked yoga tonight.

But sugar - as anyone who mainlines sweets can attest - can be just as habit-forming as cocaine.Researchers at Princeton University studying bingeing and dependency in rats have found that when the animals ingest large amounts of sugar, their brains undergo changes similar to the changes in the brains of people who abuse illegal drugs like cocaine and heroin. If people eat starch and sugar in the morning, it's very difficult to get their behavior in control and they'll be craving sweets all day," Aronne says. ...
