I've heard that the price of coffee is also going to zoom due to supplies lost in New Orleans. I know people who have started hoarding it. But how long can one hoard roasted beans before the coffee tastes like dreck?

I seldom make coffee at home (usually only when entertaining) so I keep my coffee beans in the freezer and grind them on demand. Haven't had a problem and they've kept for years.

Ground coffee, on the other hand, deteriorates much more rapidly.
Which is why I haven't bought ground coffee in ages.
