Oops, my clicker sticks and sent the empty response by mistake.

Interesting article GA. I read something a long time ago about the
Oxford Review that was negative but I can't remember what it was.
This article is good however.

This is not an article. It's an advertisement for an orthodox
Catholic publication, and I do like this advertisment. I think that
it makes its point very effectively.

Yes it does and most of us Christians are aware of it. BTW, it was
the Oxford Movement I was thinking about and not this "New Oxford
Review" where this was published. It's orthodox Catholic eh? Does
Mel Gibson like it?

Understand that I am not claiming to be a practicing Catholic or even
a practicing Christian or even an active (or inactive) member of any
religion.

All of us here could use a little more "practice" in this area.

I was simply making the point that a good theological argument can be
made that Christ was "intolerant", in the sense that the politically-
correct left-wing crowd likes to use that word.

Oh man, if Christ were alive today He'd be ranting His head off
here...you betcha!

If it will make you feel better though, as I proceed through middle
age, I do find myself contemplating more and more about spiritual
matters. To the extent that I have a hunger for any such thing, I'm
still not at all sure of how that hunger is going to be ultimately
satisfied.

Ah...Ultra Orthodox Judaism perhaps? I like those guys and they have
helped me alot.

I was thinking about this last nite, that is getting closer to God and
religion as one gets older. I saw it all the time in my youth and
adulthood though the way it was expressed morphed a bit with the
times. I always assumed it would happen to me as well. It has, and
also have the youthful memories started to emerge with old age. I
worked in nursing homes for a period in my adult life and saw this
regression all the time.

Living in the middle of a college town and actively involved with it
makes all these contrasts of old age that much more intense. I'm
liking it and enjoying these new interests. You will too GA.
