Michelle Wie goes back in for a little schoolin'

Michelle Wie is only 18. I know this, you know this, and yet it's
still a bit astonishing because she's already stirred up enough
controversy for three lifetimes. People love her, people hate her,
people want to hear more about her, people never want to hear from her
again.
And yet, here's one thing we can all agree on: Going back to Q School
is probably a very good thing for Michelle Wie right now.
Wie has run out of sponsor exemptions and didn't earn enough money on
the LPGA Tour this year, and thus will take the humiliating-but-
hopefully-ennobling step of going back to the basics. Ironically, her
first tournament will be at the same course where she rose to fame
just five short years ago, Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, Calif. It
was there that she became the Next Big Thing, a 13-year-old kid able
to play with the pros.
We've busted on Wie in this space before, and not without reason. But
if she can get it together and rebuild her game and her confidence,
minus the drama, she's still got enough time to put together a Hall of
Fame career.

back in Q Skool for the LADIES Tour
