[...] Talk of college fees and tuition charges going up is
in the news these days and politicians of both incumbent
parties are feeling an urge to "do something!" Personally,
I see the hikes as an opportunity. When people have to
pay out of their own pocket the actual cost of that college
degree, they'll quickly see that the departments choked
with women are just not cost-effective. (Yeah, even the
university nursing schools fit the profile.)
I know many families with young women that are struggling
to pay for college and I laughed and said it was like
washing a rental car. They got their face all bunched up
and I explained that if they just sent the girls to a community
college or "finishing" school and got her married to a
nice man, they'd be better off. Some of them got a look
of enlightenment in their eye.
Ha ha. I've seen you use that putting the daughter through
college is like washing a rental car analogy before. It's
very un-P.C. and maddens the politically correct crowd
because there's so much truth to it.
Not only could her family avoid a huge expense but if her
parents paid for her to get a professional education, she
is unlikely to use it after she produces grandkids. The
percentage of women who drop out of professions once
they have a chance to be stay at home (SAH) mothers
is surprisingly large.
Worse still, from the point of view of parents who want
grandkids, Ms. Expensive-Education is less likely to
produce those grandkids after she gets indoctrinated
by four years at a university or college.
