You are really trying to make a case for this guy aren't you.

You are really 180 degrees out of tune with reality, Ranting.
I'm not making a case. I have no interest in what you'd like to
believe happened in the Minneapolis airport's well-policed
toilets. What I'm saying is there is no case at all.

I will admit that I have not seen a lot about this case,
but it does appear, well, silly. Its a stretch to suggest
that everyone "knows" the "gay signals" that are common
to the washroom fun time set.

I'm sure all of Ranting's betters will readily stipulate
that Ranting knows all sorts of homosexual signals.

I sure don't.

The claims made by the arresting cop appear silly to me too.

[...] Were Ranting consistent, Ranting would be welcoming
Sen. Craig to Ranting's flock. But who ever said that
consistency of principle was considered a virtue
among the Left and their hangers-on?

Now, now. I'm among the left, in several issues,

Membership in the Left requires adherence to an ideological
dogma. Coincidental agreement on an issue here or there
that Leftists have glommed onto at the present moment
does not make one a Leftist.

You can breathe easier, Andre. ;-)

and I wouldn't want to make much hay of this "issue",
either way.

Me neither. There's no "case" here at all, IMO. What
embarassment there is appears to be limited to some
cop's accusation.

Where is said that everyone must always consistent
in every statement and action in their lives ?

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
Walt Whitman, "Song of Myself"
US poet (1819 - 1892)

I wouldn't have chosen to quote Walt Whitman
in this thread.

No one has insisted that anyone, including holders of
major national political office, must always be consistent
in _every_ statement and action. I would like to see
consistency in the _major_ deeds and beliefs of my
public officials, tho'.

Btw, IMO one of the reasons partisans like Ranting
are piling-on over this flap is that they know that
the American people expect a higher standard of
behavior and morals from Republican politicians.
I believe this is why whatshisname who twice shared
the national ticket with bill clinton lost to Republican
George W. Bush in 2000.

And, if doing such makes one happy, doesn't the
US Constitution say that's just ducky?

No more than does the oath of office the President
of Canada takes. ;-)

Seriously, the phrase "pursuit of happiness" in the
U.S. Declaration of Independence does not mean
"pursuit of pleasures". People in the 18th century
had a different understanding of happiness, one much
closer to what the ancients of classical Greece and
Rome had, than we do today.

I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him
for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be
lining up with their presidential kneepads on to show their
gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.
