Which one was I? The runner away or the disaster? :-)

I wrote from the beginning that there would be technical hurdles to
overcome that later turned out to be true. Initially, I wasn't even
able to read posts since the newsgroup wasn't carried by COX's server or
by google newsgroups.

I was told to use a web based moderation tool but it was horribly
awkward. (Not much better than google news in the last month or so.)
I gave up and didn't hear anything back, repeat, anything in email since
then. Nada. If I was a disaster, it wasn't due to anyone begging me
to come back. (Hmmm, reminds me a lot of the "abandonment" baby issue:
It's always the man's fault. :-)

Poor slobbo, it was just too much for your poor sensibilities. So you
took the traditional soc.froot method of dealing with challenges, run
away and then whine that it is someone else's fault.

What run? I wasn't hiding nor did I go anywhere.

Now you want to play semantical games. You bailed, ditched, blew off
and avoided the job for which you volunteered.

It's not my fault that you don't understand the different meanings of
the above terms...

As near to "ran away"
as possible with out the physical action.

Versus what other action? Yeah, I really "ran away" by posting to
soc.men. They'd never find me there! :-)

If you didn;t do that then
you are either stupid or incompetent.

Now you're trying to flame news.groups. It's that kind of conduct that
made the arguments of AUK'ers irrelevent.

So who's fault was it again that you didn't do your job?

1. The people who appointed you?
2. Software you found to complex for your simple mind to handle.
3. Your ISP for not jumping and adding a newsgroup?
4. The feminist conspiracy.

New.groups restored since that is where the discussion of failed
groups and their useless moderators is on topic.

News.groups removed since it doesn't matter. Whatcha trying to do? Get
them to remove it? (Your arguments didn't convince them before... :-)

Nonetheless, in answer to your questions:

1) No.
2) Partially (since apparently the newsgroup is having problems due to
software according to MarkB.)
3) No. (I could have subscribed to an outside service.)
4) No.

For the record, Jayne wrote to me to vote for a replacement moderator
who was leaning towards the feminist side and I approved.
