Why should anyone give a *** about breast cancer
when men have always been denied basic human health
and wellbeing services by the so-called "pro-male"
men in power.
Women and breast cancer? *** 'em!
Indeed. I make it a point to call or write to women-cancer
groups, and ask them what they are doing for the cancer
that hits men about equally to breast cancer. Their surprised
silences speak... volumes.
They are surprised because it's not up to them to do anything.
Ha! They are surprised because they don't really realize
forms of cancer other than boobie cancer even exist.
And there's the Men Don't Matter issue too.
You should be writing to or ringing the government agencies
that handle such things. Better still, set up your own group
to lobby for funding/research into men's health issues.
Trick: Why should Feminism do anything for men?
Why don't men form their own groups
instead of demanding that Feminism behave itself?
We do, and obviously we lack the political clout of Feminism.
But given Feminism's constant use of appeal to pity, it is
enormously hypocritical to now say "Who cares about you,
we got ours!" And we've all noticed that purveyors
of this trick don't object when the "Feminism is about
people" trick is used.
Trick: Feminists just want equality.
Feminism is about people.
The anti-male nature of Feminists is so obvious, so huge,
so outrageous, that to discuss this myth would only
dignify it undeservedly. And we've all noticed purveyors
of this trick don't object when the "Why should Feminism
do anything for men" trick is used.

You're busted, justwaxing.
We have a big campaign in Australia for prostate health
at present.
Prostate health is definitely enhanced when
men avoid women like you.
Very probably. And justwaxing should think as hard as she can
about how much more attention (never mind the money!)
_men_ give to women's health issues than women give to men's.
There's a reason why the term "male chivalry" is a redundancy.
Putting herself out to help a man who is a stranger to her
isn't something a female typically does.
The point I was trying to make is that it is entirely inappropriate to
ring organisations that deal with people with cancer (all kinds of
cancer, not just breast cancer) and tell them that others deserve
money too. Men's health issues are every bit as imporatnt as women's
but going directly to the organisations that are usually set up and
funded by survivors and their families (and sometimes the Government)
is ridiculous and cruel. Governments are responsible for where public
money is spent and that would be a good starting point Another good
starting point is to start up your own organisation. There is nothing
to gain by doing as Andre does and upsetting people who have no
control over the very issue he is trying to address.
Just for the record, I work for an organisation in my spare time that
looks after paraplegics and quadraplegics. I am yet to be a carer for
a woman as all my clients so far are men. I am currently studying my
Certificate 4 in Disability Work and intend to Study my Certificate 3
in Aged Care when I finish. So in answer to your nasty dig about not
caring for male strangers, well you got that wrong too. If you
bothered to read any of my posts properly, you would find that I am
probably the only person who posts here that lives a truly equal life!
I earn as much as my husband and still do all the work around the
home. The reason I do this is because I work less hours than my
husband and his job is more stressful. We have a son who attends a
catholic boys school as I believe boys are disadvantaged in the
Australian schooling system. I actually live equality rather than
simply talk about it.
Well, I don't think that you should have to undergo the tremendous
sacrifice entailed in "living equality".
Why don't you jump off the top story of a high building and die
inequality?
I'm not sure what you mean by this.
Oh, I think you're pretty sure about what I meant.
I think you were trying to tell me to kill myself, which is just so
disgusting that I really couldn't believe you put it in print.
I don't think the grammar is
correct.
You should know. I was echoing your grammar.
My life is great.
If it wasn't for the promise of retribution in the hereafter, there'd
be no justice in the nature of things.
Why do you always snip conversations?
I know that I do useful things for other people. It wasn't always like
that. My family are all involved in the care of others. My brothers
are doctors and my mum is very active in the community. I care for the
disabled. The work is not glamorous, but it's important. My work as a
beautician is very glamorous in comparison. I have a good balance in
my life now.
I find you an interesting person in that you seem reluctant to admit
to a problem. People do not end up as bitter as you without something
going very wrong in their life. I could have been eaten up with
bitterness having to deal with my father's bi-polar disorder (true bi-
polar and not the trendy version everyone seems to have these days)
but I got over it and got on with things. I cannot see any point in
dwelling on unpleasant things. Maybe your work as a lawyer has
tarnished you forever. My husband has dealings with lawyers in his
work as a policeman and most are really great people. They seem to be
able to put aside the unpleasant aspects of their work (as does my
husband) and see them as abherations rather than the norm. I know John
has broached this with you many times and you never give him a reply,
but I would like to know how you ended up like this.
