In other words, it's difficult sometimes to seperate what we genuinely
want to do for others from what we do simply out of sake of our own
vanity or cynical social popularity. Hell, John and you barely even
understand that there's a distinction between the two. Sigh, the burden
of having an enlightened mind is thrust upon me once again... :-)

Of course I've thought about it. There is a common sopohmoric/juvenile
emotional position that everything that anyone does is for selfish
reasons.

Have you taken a poll? :-) Perhaps you're the expert on the
sophmoric/juvenile emotional community. :-)

Puh-leeeze. This *is* soc.men.

I was being a bit facetious above John. Do you have a sense of humor?
I shouldn't have lumped you in with Marg, sorry.

Is Marg lumpy?

I've seen her picture.

It's hardly "sophmoric" or even emotional, BTW. It's a contrarian
position to the traditional notion that people can act selflessly and
requires a great deal of thinking to establish a selfish reason for
apparently selfless acts (such as saving a stranger, for example.)

There's no point in looking too closely at generosity, which the
"sophomoric" viewpoint does. If it feels good, and makes other people
feel good too, it's win-win. Hating is usually lose-lose.

It's utterly fascinating to hear you pontificate on and on about
emotionalism and "hating" while you engage in name-calling and negative
generalizations.

I don't "call names." I do dislike people who make the world a nastier
place.

Mark Sobolewski, you probably don't even need to respond to this
douche bag.

Know what he just said? He just said, "PolishKnight, you're
absolutely right. I am guilty as charged."
