I've seen numerous posts referring to your post about my record on men's
rights issues, but I can't find your post. Perhaps I missed it while
I was out of town last week or tied up with work the week before.
Did you, perhaps, post it with x-noarchive set? (as has been the
case with many or all your recent posts) If so, it becomes
hard for me to discuss the issues with you unless you are willing
to repost your original.

Yes, I have x-noarchive and I have it set that way for very good
reasons which I cannot discuss in a public forum because that will
start them all up again. Suffice it to say from that experience I
know how serious some of these little "games" can get on usenet and
even flow into real life.

OK. I do find it ironic that you find it necessary to try to make
sure that your own posts are not archived on Google, while using that
same archive to support your own arguments. ;-)

I've received the post from a number of other people and will
review it as I get the time.

There were no issues you, per se, in the post you are looking for. In
that post what I challenged was Jayne's statement that "many soc.men
regs had in the past wanted an smm." She came up with 8 examples
which with great difficulty I found on Google.

Hmmm. I was curious because Andre says you posted proof of my
unsuitabilty for the moderator position in smm:

(Andre, in a reply to Jayne yesterday)
"Yet, you still did it, by omission, by refusing to look at, or
consider, the evidence that Jill so amply provided on Borgerson's
antipathy towards men's rights and issue. "

But you seem to be saying something quite different. Perhaps I will
be able to reconcile those views when I read the post and check the
citations.

She seems to be thinking of another post. It is not archived in Google but
may still be on your server since it was posted on Aug 1:

Ah, another excercise for my broadband connection. I downloaded the
headers for the last 12000 posts on soc.men, then sorted by name.
I then selected all of Jill's posts and saved them to a text file
and did a bit of searching. I think I found the right one----
but it was on August 3rd, not the first. I do wish Jill had
been a bit more agressive in snipping quoted material---her posts
since July 19th, 2006 add up to 875KBytes of text!

(It seems that giganews has better than 1000 days retention on
text newsgroups. It's a bit more difficult to search those
three years of posts than is the case with Google Groups, though.)

It looks like about the sample I would expect if I were searching
a person's posting history to illustrate a point of view. She
did even include the discussion of the TV show "Son of the Beach"--
although I find the show to be a ridiculous satire, others
seem to take it seriously.

She also managed to find the post where GA seemed to mix me up with
Andre--thinking all my military experience came from reading books
and that I was a Canadian citizen. I think he's gotten that
straightened out since last October ;-) Why, GA and I even had
a reasonably low-temperature discussion about the liberal/conservative
characteristics of univerisity faculties a while back. I'm pretty
sure he didn't think he was talking to a Canadian by that time.
