Human Resources - What a waste

http://nycbuck.blogspot.com/2006/04/human-resources-what-waste.html

While i'm on the topic of women in the office, I need to address the Human
Resources department. It is utter and complete ***. They are absolutely
worthless and 95% of the department can be fired tommorow and we would not
miss a beat. Of course the department is almost exclusively female. There
are maybe 2 or 3 guys there, and the one that I see regularly on the
elevator is a flaming homosexual, so it's not exactly the most straight,
male friendly environment to work in. I really don't understand why the
company needs to hire so many people to do the same mundane, redundant work.
They are responsible for such mental taxing work like stuffing envelopes for
the new hires, organizing sexual harassment seminars, organizing and
collecting money for breast cancer awareness for the billionth time, giving
tours, giving pep talks to the new hires, and taking employee grievances.
This can be done by, 3 or 4 people, maximum 6. We have an entire department
of maybe 30 in HR. The company could save so much money if they just cut
down on these useless sloths collecting money for doing nothing. If you go
up to the HR department, you'll see that they are surfing the internet,
gossiping and chatting and doing their nails. The place reeks of nail polish
remover.

What kills me is the job titles they have. Here are some. "Personnel
Manager". "Assistant Personnel Manager" "Junior Assistant Personnel Manager"
"Human Resources Grievance Counselor" "Personnel Director" "Assistant
Personnel Director" "Human Resources Specialist".

Can anyone tell me what the *** any of that rubbish is? If it's one thing I
know, it's that the more vague or the longer your job title is, then there's
a higher likelyhood that you ain't doing jack ***. What is the difference
between a Personnel Director and a Personnel Manager? Why do they need
several subordinates if they just stuff envelopes, take complaints and give
pep talks to new hires? They need several assistants for that? What is a
Human Resources Specialist? What do they specialize in? Seriously, what does
someone in HR need to specialize in other than having a decent smile and a
nice demeanor? The thing is that these women feel like they are important
and that they actually matter. A big portion of women in the workforce do
mundane *** like this for a living and then they wonder why there is a wage
gap between men and women.

I'm sorry, but I busted my ass in school, and i'll be damned if I get the
same salary as the Assistant Personnel Director of HR who does nothing but
at most stuffs a dozen evelopes all day. Can't we train chimps to do this
work? Why did these women even bother to waste their parents money on a
college education? These are supposed to be my intellectual equals? We keep
hearing about how college enrollment for women is at an all time high and
how they are surpassing males, but we need to realize that a vast majority
of them will do no more than mundane administrative work for the rest of
their lives because unlike their sugarcoated, powderfluff collegework, in
the real world, you have to do real work to get ahead and they have no
experience with that, and when they see how you need to bust your ass to get
somewhere, they become complacent with doing administrative work. Then they
complain about how women earn less than men on average. Well honey, most men
don't go to college to stuff envelopes.
