They're in the process of slowly dismantling Communism. The days
of closed markets are over.

I hope so. At the same time, they are cracking down on free
expression more than ever before.

Anyone who thinks China is a free market has never tried to sell
anything there. They will allow the import of raw materials, but by the
time you finish paying fees and taxes, the street price of manufactured
goods triples.
