In any case, should I ever find myself in dire straights, I would
certainly
consider setting myself up as that house cleaning business. I'd never
work
for another cleaning company, though. It's easy enough to set yourself
up
as a business and find your own clients. The demand is out there...at
least
it is here in my area. I could also set myself up as a day-care
provider.
It's easy enough to get that license, bonding and screening done. I
could
choose to care for 5 children in my own home and make a livable wage off
of
that service. But, again, this is not the kind of work I particularly
care
for. I could do it if I had no other choice. Thank goodness I do have
choices other than cleaning house and caring for children! ;-)

Putting it that way, it does sounds simple.
It is amazingly simple. Here's another example regarding a highschool
student...a young lady in Grade 11 who is a member of my son's friendship
circle. She does babysitting for one family which has 6 children. She does
this work between 5 and 9 p.m. The family has it's own business which
requires husband and wife be at the store until 9:00 p.m. each night of the
week. Guess what this young lady is being paid for caring for those 6
children? $50.00 per hour. She's making $200.00 each and every evening
Mon. to Fri. That works out to her receiving approximately $8.00 an hour
per child, 4 hours, 5 days a week.
Hers in an unusual case in that it is not common for families to have these
many children all under the age of 12. The family are extremely wealthy
Sikhs. The school girl is a Caucasian gal. They're paying this girl
minimum wage for each child. This young girl is thrilled with her job.
She's squirreling away this money to help pay for her university tuition
once she graduates.
As no doubt she should be thrilled. It sounds similar to a wealthy
family
paying a young man $50 an hour to mow their lawn. I know people who
work for wealthy families in such a capacity and they're paid decently,
but not extravagantly.
How did she get this job? Through business connections from her father.
It's basically a situation where the rich are taking care of the rich and
making sure their offspring do in fact also earn their own way.
Sounds a lot like a kickback actually. I'm reminded of Ron Brown,
former
Bill Clinton secretary of Commerce, being under investigation for
ethics
violations including his very young daughter getting high paying jobs
and cheap houses. Just as an indictment was about to be handed
down, his plane crashed, along with a hundred other people, under
suspicious circumstances in Croatia. The technical head of the
airport committed suicide that night, without a note, from a shot
in the stomach (and a plastic bag over his head after being dumped
in a river with cement blocks on his feet. OK, I made that part up.
:-)
The stewardess, in the back of the plane, who had survived for more
than two days died in the back of the helicopter on the way to
the hospital...
Sometimes the rich "take care of things" in other ways...
This girl's
father can well afford to send his gal to university, but he chose not to.
He found out his business aquaintance needed household help. His daughter
jumped at the chance. That's an awful lot of money to be earning merely
babysitting 6 children. The girl does, however, also cook the dinner while
the mother is at the shop helping her husband.
Sounds like a lot more than that is being "cooked." :-)
What "private business" do these folks own and what does her father
do for a living. If the answer to the first question is "public
contracting"
and the second something like "Auditor" or "committee chairman", I
think
I know what's going on...
I would have thought it might have been cheaper for them to just hire this
girl for minimum wage to work at the ship, but no....the wife wanted to get
away from the children. She's been with them all day long. So, those 4
hours at the shop gives her that break. To her, it's worth paying $200.00
per evening! Unreal! LOL...
Yeah, it's almost as unreal as attractive maids who get paid $200 a
night
and wear french maid outfits and pay special attention to changing
the sheets. :-)
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry worried that he
was paying his maid for sex.
Ah well...the life of the rich...and how they'll put money into each other's
pocket. One rich father will pay huge money to another rich father's
daughter...for babysitting! LOL... ;-)

PolishKnight
