to be dependent on the rich.
Sorry mate bu that is basic marxism. And it is how power has sought to maintain itslef to at least 5,000 years. 
How? Think you can grab a peice of
land, build a small house and start a farm or a large garden on it to
support your self? NOOOOOO. If you
try it, people will find you, and have you evicted from the land, with
the help of a well
armed police force, if nessecary. Guess what: The land is 100% owned by
either the gov't or
private citizens, some who gobble up acers and acers at a time, then
resell it sometimes
at an exhoborant price. Unfortunately, these rich bastards (either be
the gov't, or
landowners/developers) took it upon themselves to take the land, then
charge people the "right" to live on it.
Yes mate. It was called tey eclosures when they did it in UK - that was like 600 years ago. 
Land is supposed to be a God given right to everyone, unfortunately, a
bunch of goons with guns decided to take all of the cookies from the
jar, and sell you
peices of it back on the "agreement" that They won't come with guns and
kick you off of your
parcel. Of course this isn't even a guarantee scince the IRS can seize
your home if you
fail to pay property taxes (a huge lions share going to military), or
seize it through
emminent domain if they want to build a road through it or (suprise!) a
developer likes
your land and gets the gov't to do their dirty work to push their
project through.

 Let's not just soak the rich bastards that have done the above, let's
put them in prison for violating basic human rights.
Excuse me; which police force are you going to use to do this?
