Your problem is your understanding of childhood. Childhood only lasts
about 10 years, between infancy and adolescence. Normally, a child
enters puberty around age 9 or 10, and reaches adolescence around age 12
or 13. The vast majority of people are sexually mature by age 13, and
are no longer children.

By legally restricting their choice of sex partners, society is not
doing teenage girls any favors. Turning them into jail bait forces them
to choose the most sexually aggressive teenage boys, who are exempt from
the law.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. The little cuties don't check you out
any more, huh?

Like there is some magic switch that flips at age 18? Most of that is
just political posturing, like referring to adolescents as children,
even though that is demonstrably not so.
