Unless you were in a bunker you were exposed to them. 6 from a
nebelwerfer - 24 or so from a Sherman tank, hundreds from a bank of
Katyushas, several times that from an LSM(R) (ISTR that term) - the
landing support rocket launching ship(s). Just like carpet bombing but
I believe a degree more accurate.
